As of July 1, 2023, The English Language Institute at the University of Southern Mississippi has closed. We are thankful for 76 years of teaching English to all of the wonderful students who studied with us in Hattiesburg. To our former students and teachers, thank you for making an impact on our community and for the wonderful memories at the ELI.

Located on the main campus of The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, the English Language Institute helped "the World Learn English Since 1947” and was one of the oldest intensive English programs in the United States. For 76 years we welcomed students from all over the world to the Hospitality State, and are thankful to have had the opportunity to share this experience with so many students.
